The Process

How Roof Rejuvenation Works

Four straightforward steps, one morning on site, no tear-off — here's exactly what happens from the first inspection to your warranty.

Home How It Works

Roof rejuvenation is a simple four-step process: we inspect your roof and give you a photo report, handle minor tune-up items, spray-apply a bio-based oil that penetrates the shingles (about 90 minutes), and back the work with a 5-year transferable warranty. There's no tear-off and no disruption inside your home.

Every job starts on the roof, not on a sales pitch — with close-up photos of what we actually find.

The whole idea behind rejuvenation is to put the oils back into aging asphalt shingles before they turn brittle and fail. That's a light-touch job compared with a full roof replacement — and it shows in how the day runs. Here's the process, start to finish.

The 4 steps

Inspect & photo report

We start on the roof, not on the sales pitch. A technician walks the roof, checks the shingle condition, and takes close-up photos of what we find — granule loss, drying, flashing, problem areas. Then you get an honest report. If your roof is a good candidate, we'll show you why. If repair or a full replacement is the smarter move, we'll tell you that too. See our does it work? page for the evidence behind rejuvenation.

Minor tune-up: nail pops & flashing

Before we treat anything, we take care of small items that a sound roof should have handled — popped nails reseated, loose or lifted flashing secured. This is a tune-up, not a repair job: rejuvenation does not fix active leaks, or missing and cracked shingles. If we find something that needs real repair, we'll flag it clearly before any treatment goes down.

Low-pressure bio-oil spray (~90 minutes)

We spray-apply the ~95% USDA-certified bio-based rejuvenant across the roof at low pressure. Low pressure matters: it lets the oil soak into the shingle and re-saturate the asphalt rather than sitting on top like a coating. For a typical home the treatment itself takes about 90 minutes. We protect landscaping and hard surfaces as we go.

5-year transferable warranty

When the treatment is done, your roof is covered by our 5-year transferable warranty. Each treatment adds 5 years of restored shingle flexibility, and the warranty passes to the next owner if you sell your home — a genuine plus at resale. With periodic re-treatment, many asphalt roofs gain 10–15 years of added service life.

What to expect on treatment day

Rejuvenation day is refreshingly uneventful — that's the point. There's no dumpster in the driveway, no crew tearing off old shingles, and no pounding through your ceilings all day.

  • We arrive, confirm the plan from your inspection, and mask or rinse landscaping and hard surfaces as needed.
  • The spray application runs about 90 minutes for a typical home; larger or steeper roofs take a little longer.
  • You don't need to be home — all the work is on the exterior of the roof.
  • The bio-based oil has a mild, plant-oil smell that fades within a day or two, and there's no debris to haul away.
  • We walk you through the finished work and your warranty paperwork before we leave.
Wondering about price? Rejuvenation typically costs about 15–20% of a full replacement. See the full breakdown on our cost page, or compare the two options side by side on rejuvenation vs. replacement.

Common questions

How long does roof rejuvenation take?

The spray treatment itself takes about 90 minutes for a typical home. With the inspection and minor tune-up, most jobs are done in a single morning or afternoon.

Do I need to be home for the treatment?

No. The work happens entirely on the exterior of the roof, so you don't need to be home. Many customers go about their normal day while we're on site.

Is there any mess or smell?

There's no tear-off, so there's no pile of old shingles and debris. The bio-based rejuvenant has a mild, plant-oil odor that fades within a day or two, and we mask and rinse landscaping and hard surfaces as needed.
